Hackers calling themselves Black Mirror published screenshots of a purported Sberbank memo dated April 2026 that outlines eight scenarios for ending the war in Ukraine, allegedly drawn from correspondence involving Sberbank chairman German Gref. The scenarios range from full Russian battlefield dominance requiring a mobilization of 300,000 to 500,000 more troops, to Western support for Ukraine collapsing, to a Cyprus-style frozen conflict, to grinding stalemate and demographic collapse on both sides.

Neither the authenticity of the document nor its authorship has been confirmed, and Sberbank has not commented. One analyst quoted by Meduza reportedly suspects a chatbot may have written it.

The memo's most geopolitically loaded scenario has Donald Trump brokering a deal before the 2026 midterms partly to pursue a Nobel Peace Prize, while neither side trusts his guarantees to last past his term.
