Shelley Fabares, 'Johnny Angel' Singer And Veteran Actor, Dies

Shelley Fabares, a television fixture for decades on ‘The Donna Reed Show,’ ‘One Day at a Time’ and ‘Coach,’ died Saturday in Los Angeles at 82; no cause was given. She began acting as a child, later starring alongside Paul Newman, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley, and had two Top 40 hits including her signature song ‘Johnny Angel.’

Fabares survived a liver transplant in 2000 after nearly two years on a waiting list and became a devoted advocate for Alzheimer's awareness. She had been married to actor Mike Farrell since 1984; her family remembered her for her kindness, loyalty, and wit.
