Liliana Pérez Ocampo and her family filmed themselves escaping their home moments before it was struck by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia on Monday. She told the BBC World Service the family initially mistook the shaking for a routine mild tremor before realizing, after more than 30 seconds, that this was something worse. Her family, including two children who were at school, are safe.
Colombia's Geological Service says it is the strongest earthquake to hit the country in the 21st century, with at least 169 people killed.
