Son of Rep. Lauren Boebert makes court appearance on child sexploitation charges

Tyler Boebert, 21, appeared in Garfield County court on three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, tied to explicit images and video posted to Instagram in 2024 involving minors. He faces up to 12 years in prison per count if convicted, and a judge entered a protective order barring contact with two parties in the case.

Investigators say Boebert, then 18, was involved in producing and distributing sexually explicit material depicting a 17-year-old and another minor; he was 11 months and nearly three years older than the two victims respectively. He also faces misdemeanor charges in a separate county and is due for sentencing next month on an unrelated identity theft guilty plea.
