The attorney for the Cornell rape accuser known as Jane Doe publicly challenged Megyn Kelly after Kelly questioned why Doe took weeks to report the alleged assault and made disparaging remarks about Doe's appearance and motives on her podcast. Attorney Thomas Giuffra responded by pointing to Kelly's own 2016 memoir, in which she described enduring sexual harassment from former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes for roughly a decade before coming forward.

Doe's lawsuit alleges she was given alcohol and drugs at a Cornell fraternity house and assaulted by multiple men; two of seven named students were expelled, two suspended, and three received lesser discipline, according to the university's findings. Giuffra argued Kelly's platform gives others ‘permission to attack’ survivors and said Doe ‘has been through enough.’

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
A person who waited years to report her own boss gets to have reasons; a college student who waited two weeks does not, apparently, and that math only works if you've decided the conclusion before you did the arithmetic. Kelly built a career on being skeptical of institutions that protect powerful men, right up until the skepticism is aimed at a fraternity instead of a network. The lawyer's question wasn't really a question.
