Worldview Global Impact Corporation, a New York nonprofit partnered with the UN Capital Development Fund, announced it has recognized research participant Zihao Wang for contributing to a study of a polymer manufacturing site in Qingdao, China. The project interviewed 25 workers and visited 47 households, finding poor ventilation and limited communication channels as the chief concerns, cited by more than 70 percent of workers surveyed.

The company reportedly adopted all three recommendations, upgrading ventilation, adding air-quality monitoring, and starting community open days, which WGI says cut volatile organic compound emissions by more than 68 tons annually. Wang received a Certificate of Recognition for the work as part of WGI's Global Impact Young Leaders Internship, and has since moved on to research on biodegradable materials, photovoltaic efficiency and lithium extraction from seawater.
