The UN's International Organization for Migration warned that its Common Humanitarian Pipeline into Sudan could collapse within weeks without emergency funding. The system supports more than 100 NGOs delivering shelter and nonfood aid amid a war that has killed over 200,000 people and displaced millions since April 2023.

Aid reaching people through the pipeline has fallen sharply, from over a million people helped in 2024 to 330,000 so far in 2026. IOM says $15 million would maintain current minimal operations for a year, while $42 million would restore 2024-level capacity; current supplies are expected to run out by the end of September.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Fifteen million dollars sounds like a lot until you remember what it is buying, and what happens when nobody pays it. This is the same story that gets told every year in every war zone, the warehouse emptying while the world argues about whose turn it is to write the check. Nobody wins an argument with a family that has no tarp for the rain.
