Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine's ambassador to the UK and former armed forces chief, condemned Russia's Oct. 7 attack that killed at least 19 people, including four children, calling residential buildings 'not military targets.' Ukraine's air force said it intercepted dozens of the nearly 50 cruise missiles, 130 drones and five ballistic missiles launched that night, but strikes still hit 18 locations.

The deadliest hit was in Pryluky, where a missile destroyed part of a five-story apartment building, killing 13 people including four children and injuring more than 50. Additional deaths were reported in Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Oleksandriia, with further strikes in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhya.
