Elena Rybakina beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to win her first U.S. Open title, ending Sabalenka's 19-match winning streak at the tournament and her bid to win three straight Flushing Meadows titles. Rybakina had already clinched the No. 1 ranking regardless of the result by reaching the semifinals.

It was Rybakina's third Grand Slam title and second this year, both wins coming against Sabalenka on hard courts after she also beat her in the Australian Open final. Rybakina earned $5.5 million, the largest prize in Grand Slam history, while Sabalenka took home $2.8 million and smashed her racket after the match.
