The bit referenced Natalie Harp, Trump's real aide, who reportedly wrote him letters describing him in similar terms, per past New York Times reporting.

The joke followed weeks of attention on the Trump-Harp relationship after Sen. Jon Ossoff mentioned her by name at a rally, saying Trump would rather 'build his ballroom and travel with Natalie' than do the job.

A late-night sketch only lands if the real thing already sounds like a script note, and this one clearly did. Nobody had to invent the devotion, just stage it with better lighting. That should worry the people whose actual job is running the country, though it does not appear to.
