Russian strikes injure five and damage Auchan store at Lavina Mall

Russia launched 173 attack and decoy drones at Ukraine overnight into Sept. 26, and Kyiv's air defenses shot down or suppressed 134 of them, according to the Air Force. Strikes still hit 19 locations across the capital, injuring five people and setting a five-story residential building on fire in the Solomianskyi district, where 20 people were rescued.

A drone also struck the grounds of Lavina Mall in the Sviatoshynskyi district, damaging an Auchan supermarket that will stay closed for repairs; the company said no one there was hurt. Emergency crews also extinguished fires at a kindergarten in the Obolonskyi district and near warehouses in two other districts, while falling debris shattered windows on an apartment building.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said all five injured received treatment at the scene or as outpatients, as cleanup and firefighting continued into the morning.
