The White House's Rapid Response 47 account quote-posted a meteorologist's note that no Atlantic hurricanes had formed yet this season, replying only 'Thank you, President Trump!' The post landed two days after a federal judge ruled the administration's plan to cut FEMA's workforce in half violated the law.

Weather commentators and social media users quickly noted that hurricane formation is a function of ocean temperatures and atmospheric conditions, not presidential intervention, with one meteorologist dryly clarifying that 'the president has absolutely nothing to do with zero hurricanes in the Atlantic.' Trump has previously called for FEMA's elimination and argued disaster response should shift to states.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Taking credit for calm weather is like taking credit for the sun coming up, easy work until the first storm rolls in. And when it does, the fellow who cut the rescue crew in half won't be posting thank-you notes. A judge already said the cuts broke the law. The ocean doesn't read press releases, and neither, apparently, does the White House read court rulings.
