Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said roughly 620 drones targeted the Moscow region starting the evening of August 17, with 180 shot down, followed by another 17 later with no further detail. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported more than 150 drones downed overnight, with injuries in Ramenskoye, Bogorodsk, and Kolomna districts, including a 10-year-old girl hurt by shrapnel.

Pavlovo-Posad district saw the worst damage: a home burned down, an apartment roof caught fire, and more than 5,000 people lost power. A drone struck a Wildberries warehouse in Noginsk; the company described the damage as minor, from falling debris, with employees evacuated beforehand and no goods harmed.

Fires and damage were also reported in Kolomna, Kotelniki, and Elektrostal, while Ryazan's governor said nine drones were downed there with three people injured. Russia's Defense Ministry claimed 791 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight across Russian regions, occupied Crimea, and nearby waters.
