President Trump used a Truth Social post to claim Brazil's presidential election — which he initially and incorrectly called India's — proved U.S. elections are 'CORRUPT' because Brazil's same-day results beat the weeks it takes places like Detroit and Philadelphia to count votes. He deleted the original post and issued a corrected version naming Brazil, but a screenshot of the India version stayed up on the White House's own Rapid Response account on X for hours.

Brazil's vote relies entirely on electronic machines, which explains the quick count; Trump has separately cited a 2020 National Intelligence Council memo to question U.S. voting machine security, a memo that FactCheck.org notes also concluded large-scale manipulation would be difficult.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When a man can't keep two of the biggest countries on earth straight, he might go easy on telling the rest of us our vote counters can't do their jobs. And the White House leaving the wrong version up for hours tells you the proofreading over there runs about as fast as Detroit's count, by his own measure.
