President Trump announced an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia on October 11, claiming both sides had agreed to it. Zelenskyy called the proposal good news but noted it was violated almost immediately, with Russian forces striking a major Kharkiv thermal power plant shortly after the announcement.
A separate missile strike near a grocery store in the Kharkiv suburb of Pisochyn killed three people, including a 16-year-old, and injured 25 others that same night. Zelenskyy said Russia had launched more than 200 strikes on power infrastructure and 17 on gas and oil facilities in the preceding week alone.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
You can announce a ceasefire from behind a podium, but the missiles don't read press releases. Calling something an agreement before anyone's actually stopped shooting is the kind of optimism that gets a Kharkiv suburb buried in glass.
