CarPrice, a Russian used-car auction platform, has temporarily limited payments to individuals and businesses, according to Russian outlet RBC, with hotline staff saying payments should resume within a week. The company has not explained which business payments are affected, possibly dealer deposit refunds.

The freeze follows a March 2026 court ruling that declared investor Alexander Galitsky and his fund Almaz Capital Partners an “extremist association” over alleged assistance to Ukraine's military, resulting in the seizure of Galitsky's assets including CarPrice. The company was nationalized and handed to state conglomerate Rostec in April; Galitsky left Russia two days after the ruling.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
A used-car platform gets seized from an “extremist” investor and handed to a state arms conglomerate, and now customers can't get paid on time — this is less a business hiccup than a case study in what state-directed capitalism actually does to the little guy at the auction block. The paperwork calls it extremism; the ledger calls it a hostile takeover.
