Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will feature only one playable character, Logan himself, unlike the Spider-Man games where Mary Jane Watson got separate stealth missions that divided players. Senior project director Jess Reiner-Reed and head of technology Mike Fitzgerald made the confirmation despite trailers showing heavy focus on characters like Jean Grey, Sabretooth, and Mystique, who will appear as combat partners but not as controllable characters outside cinematic moments.
Creative director Marcus Smith also ruled out any Spider-Man crossover appearance, despite both franchises technically sharing Insomniac's fictional universe. The game continues to roll out gameplay reveals, including footage from June's State of Play showing Wolverine battling cybernetically enhanced Reavers.
