Millwall and West Ham United drew 2-2 in the 100th meeting between the clubs, but the result took a back seat to an accusation that Millwall goalkeeper Filip Marschall was spat on by West Ham striker Taty Castellanos.

Marschall reported the incident to referee Paul Tierney, who is expected to file it for review by the Football Association; spitting carries a potential six-match ban. Castellanos denies the allegation and reportedly expects video footage to clear him.

Both managers said after the match they had not personally reviewed the footage or spoken directly with the players involved, leaving the matter to the authorities. There were also further unpleasant scenes among players at full time.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
A hundred years of a rivalry and it comes down to a review committee squinting at pixels to settle a schoolyard question. Everybody involved says they haven't looked at the tape yet, which is a funny thing to say with such confidence about what it will show. Somebody's reputation rides on a camera angle, and that's about the state of things.
