24-year-old Ukrainian hid weapons cache near Berlin on Moscow’s orders, report says

A 24-year-old Ukrainian man, Vadym S., allegedly hid two pistols and ammunition in a Berlin-area weapons cache on instructions from Russian special services, Der Spiegel reported. German authorities located the cache using coordinates intercepted by Polish counterparts, secretly disabled the weapons, and monitored the site for weeks, but no one ever retrieved them.

The suspect was separately arrested in Romania in connection with an alleged plot against a Ukrainian delivery company, which Romanian intelligence says was run by a Russian-controlled sabotage network. Investigators are examining unconfirmed claims that a relative connected to Russian intelligence recruited him.
