The Michigan Libertarian Party issued a statement disavowing its own gubernatorial nominee, Anthony Hudson, saying his positions contradict the party's platform on free speech and religious liberty. The party did not specify what triggered the resolution, and Hudson had already been censured and disavowed by two county chapters beforehand.
Hudson, a truck driver who left the Republican primary earlier this year claiming he'd been 'silenced,' responded with his own video declaring himself 'perfectly comfortable' being disavowed and framing the party as the problem. He remains on the November ballot under the Libertarian line regardless, since the withdrawal deadline has passed and ballots are already out.
