A confrontation at a back-to-school event at Westfield High School in Indiana has produced two irreconcilable accounts. Sophia Hunt, the 17-year-old president of the school's Turning Point USA chapter, says a mother slapped a bracelet out of her hand, cursed at her, and called TPUSA supporters racist and homophobic while staffing a booth.

Kailly Stanich, the mother in question, denies slapping or screaming at Hunt, telling Newsweek that police and fire department booths were nearby and she would have been arrested on the spot if it happened. She acknowledges swearing during the exchange but disputes the rest, and says she has filed her own police report over subsequent death threats.

Video clips circulating on social media, including from Libs of TikTok and The Charlie Kirk Show, show Stanich describing her irritation at seeing Charlie Kirk's image at the event and calling the booth's attendant unflattering names. TPUSA figures, including Erika Kirk, have publicly backed Hunt, while Stanich's social media accounts have since gone private.
