President Trump confirmed Tuesday night that his secret flight from Turkey, which used a passenger-filled decoy Air Force One, was ordered by the Secret Service and military, not his own idea. He said he simply does what he's told when it comes to security decisions.

Rubio, Bessent, and Hegseth all reportedly knew about the plane switch in advance, with Hegseth flying alongside Trump on the actual aircraft while the other two rode the decoy. Trump acknowledged a threat prompted the move but said he didn't ask many questions about it, noting he receives many threats.

A president who claims the empty decoy plane was more dangerous than the one he was actually on has either uncovered a stunning security paradox or is just narrating events in whatever order sounds best that day. Either way, the press pool spent a transatlantic flight staring at closed window shades for a threat nobody has bothered to specify.
