Trump expects Zelensky to stop Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries under an energy ceasefire Trump announced on October 11, according to a White House source who told Axios 'Trump is really mad' and feels Zelensky is 'taking the U.S. for granted.' Zelensky told Axios the ceasefire announcement came as news to him.

Axios notes the arrangement is lopsided: Ukraine has only one refinery, and a Ukrainian source says it isn't even running at full capacity after Russian strikes, while Russia has many. Russia itself has not officially accepted the ceasefire; a source told Axios 'the Russians are thinking about it.'

This is the second such announcement from Trump, after a September 14 energy ceasefire that both sides kept violating anyway.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
It's hard to break a deal you weren't told about. Ukraine has one refinery, and it isn't even running full, while Russia is still thinking it over, so the only fellow sure this ceasefire exists is the one who announced it. He did the same thing in September, and you'd think getting mad at the wrong party would get old by the second try.
