Russian forces struck a bridge over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia overnight on October 6, closing traffic on the span and injuring five people, including two Red Cross staff, according to regional military administration head Mykhailo Semikin.
The same stretch of fighting saw a drone hit a nine-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia the previous evening, setting an apartment and a balcony on fire and injuring two more residents. In Kyiv, a strike set the roof of an educational building ablaze in the Obolon district, though no one was hurt there.
Since early October, Russian forces have repeatedly targeted Kyiv's Dnipro bridges, including the Northern and Southern bridges, hitting spans that had gone untouched through the rest of the war. Kyiv has nine bridges over the river in total.
