President Trump told reporters the Ukraine war began due to 'incompetence' and repeated his claim that it never would have happened under his watch, while overstating Russian-occupied territory at 30 percent against independent estimates of roughly 20 percent.
Trump also called for Zelenskyy to be replaced, saying Ukraine needs 'a new leader who can make a deal,' and demanded Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries.
The remarks came a day after Trump announced a diesel supply deal with Putin and the Treasury issued a license authorizing Russian diesel transactions through April 2027, a move Zelenskyy called 'a weak decision on the part of strong partners.'

When a man says the barn never would have burned if he'd been holding the lantern, it's worth checking who just sold the arsonist a can of kerosene. Calling for Ukraine to swap presidents while signing diesel deals with Putin through April 2027 is a strange way to show which side of the fence you're standing on. And the 30 percent figure keeps growing every time he tells it, the way a pike does at the bait shop.
