Michigan's 2026 midterm field collected a fresh batch of institutional blessings: Abdul El-Sayed picked up the state Democratic Party's Black Caucus nod and Planned Parenthood Action Fund's endorsement in his Senate bid, while Jocelyn Benson won the Michigan Education Association's unanimous committee recommendation for governor. Bernie Sanders endorsed state Senate candidate Justin Onwenu, and legislative candidate Joanna Whaley racked up endorsements from an attorney general nominee and several sitting officials.

On the money side, the Senate Leadership Fund is dropping another $6 million in August to boost Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers, pushing its Michigan total to $51 million, while the DCCC added Christina Hines to its 'Red to Blue' list in hopes of flipping the seat held by gubernatorial candidate John James.
