Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court ordered Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko, known as ‘Muse’ in the Carthage call-center case, held for 60 days with bail set at 20 million hryvnias, below the 50 million prosecutors sought. Recorded conversations played in court touched on sole proprietorships registered in relatives' names and money moved through those accounts.

Ivakhnenko denies the allegations and says the recordings were distorted, promising a full response after reviewing four volumes of case files. Anti-corruption agencies say suspects began scrubbing social media accounts of luxury purchases after the first NABU searches, including one recording of a woman referred to as ‘Muza’ cataloguing a Porsche, watches, and bags she needed erased.

The case follows the detention a day earlier of Serhii Kropyva, Ivakhnenko's partner and a Prosecutor General's Office official, held on 120 million hryvnias bail over allegations of protecting illegal call centers and laundering more than 89 million hryvnias.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When the recorded plan is 'delete the Porsche and the watches from the internet,' the case has more or less made itself. Anti-corruption courts don't need much imagination when the suspects narrate their own alibi problems out loud. Some fences you build higher after the neighbor's dog gets loose once; some people just keep leaving the gate open.
