Kalpana Kharat, wife of self-styled godman Ashok Kharat, appeared before Shirdi Police for questioning over alleged irregularities in a roughly four-acre land purchase near Shirdi, after the Supreme Court granted her interim bail.
She told investigators she had no direct role in the transaction, claiming her husband handled the entire process and that she was unaware of the documentation or the people involved.
The case stems from a complaint by landowner Raosaheb Gondkar alleging fraud, leading to charges against Ashok Kharat, Kalpana Kharat and others; police have since filed a chargesheet before the Rahata court.
