Filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor premiered “NAZA” at the Venice Film Festival, built from testimony by 24 anonymous Israeli military and intelligence figures describing AI-enabled targeting systems used in Gaza.

The film's title refers to an Israeli intelligence euphemism for the expected civilian death count in a strike, and the directors say it links mass surveillance of Gaza's telecommunications network directly to mass killing.

Gaza's Health Ministry reports about 73,500 Palestinians killed since October 2023, a figure the UN considers reliable, following the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack that killed 1,219 people according to AFP's tally; Israel says it does not deliberately target civilians and blames Hamas for embedding among the population.
