Ahead of the Seahawks-Patriots Week 1 matchup, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and cornerback Christian Gonzalez each praised the other's game to reporters. Both signed major contract extensions this offseason, Smith-Njigba for four years and $168 million, Gonzalez for four years and $135 million.

Gonzalez called Smith-Njigba smooth and hard to read, while Smith-Njigba called Gonzalez smart and physically elite. The two are reportedly from the same area and have watched each other's careers develop.
