Russian forces struck Zhytomyr Oblast on September 18, killing two people and injuring two others, Ukraine's Interior Ministry said. Fires broke out at a warehouse and production building in Korosten District, and rescuers had to withdraw temporarily due to the threat of further strikes.

The State Emergency Service deployed 56 rescuers and 17 pieces of equipment to the scene, alongside volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross. The attack followed two air raid alerts issued that morning over drone threats, and came a day after a separate strike on an industrial park in the same district killed two and injured two more.
