Russia's transport minister Andrey Nikitin said aviation authorities will prevent 'significant disruptions' to civil aviation in response to Zelensky's threat to make Russian airspace unsafe via drone strikes, while acknowledging there will 'definitely' be some flight groundings, which he referred to using the code term 'Carpets.'

Zelensky had warned airlines that Russian airspace 'is becoming unsafe' and that Ukraine's drones would force Russian airspace to 'de facto' close, while insisting Ukraine does not target civil aviation itself.

Putin called Zelensky's statement 'a bid for state terrorism.' Turkish carrier Pegasus has already begun canceling Moscow flights.
