President Trump again claimed he would have won California in an honest election, calling the state's system crooked despite losing it by 30 points in 2016, 29 in 2020, and 20 in 2024, per CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale.

No Republican has won a statewide race in California since 2006, and none has carried it in a presidential contest since 1988. Trump has made this exact claim before and continues to target the state's mail-in voting system, even though he has voted by mail himself.

Social media reaction ranged from exasperated to clinical, with critics noting the apparent contradiction of calling elections crooked only when he loses them, while the federal government he leads was itself elected under the same national system.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Losing a state by 30, then 29, then 20 isn't a near miss. It's the same answer three times running. A man who mails in his own ballot and then calls mail ballots crooked ought to at least check his own mailbox before he goes accusing the post office. Anybody who has watched a neighbor blame the umpire after every single loss knows the scoreboard doesn't care, and California won't either.
