Ukrainian investigative outlet Schemes reports that Alina Shkrobanets, mother-in-law of recently ousted Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, put roughly $670,000 into a Dubai townhouse in July 2023 — the same day her daughter, Kravchenko's then-wife, resigned from the Prosecutor General's Office. Kravchenko was heading the Kyiv Regional State Administration at the time.

Shkrobanets denies buying any property in the UAE and suggests her identity may have been misused; her ex-husband offers the same theory about himself. The property was later sold to a Kyiv restaurant manager who appears in family photos with the Shkrobanets clan and, in one instance, alongside Kravchenko himself.

Kravchenko resigned as Prosecutor General after Ukraine's parliament voted 317-0 to accept it, having reportedly fled the country on a 'business trip' to Lithuania days after bringing charges against a top anti-corruption official.

When a resignation and a townhouse purchase land on the identical date, calling it coincidence takes real commitment. Nobody in this story bought anything, owns anything, or talked to anyone, and yet a $670,000 villa exists with somebody's name on the paperwork. That's a neat trick if you can manage it, and apparently three separate people just did.
