Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps has publicly shown off the British-made RapidRanger air defense system, built by Thales UK, mounted on a Spanish URO VAMTAC 4x4 vehicle and armed with LMM Martlet missiles. The combination is meant to give Ukrainian forces a mobile, quick-repositioning tool against Russian drones and other low-flying threats.

The system can detect targets roughly 15 kilometers out and engage within about 7 kilometers, with a reaction time under five seconds and four ready-to-fire missiles per launcher. Ukraine's Defense Ministry says it is particularly suited to intercepting reconnaissance drones like the Orlan-10 and Shahed strike drones, whose heat signatures can confound other infrared-guided interceptors.
