Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola urged industry colleagues to speak openly about personal struggles rather than suffer silently behind composed public appearances. She made the appeal at a candlelight tribute in Lagos honoring the late actress Temitope Osoba, who died August 5 at age 40.
Osoba had publicly battled breast cancer for roughly two years and returned to acting in August 2025 describing her recovery as life-changing. Her fiancé has since disputed widespread claims that she died from cancer complications, alleging she died at a police station in Ikorodu, a claim her family says is part of unverified information circulating online.
Daramola acknowledged that people cannot always be present for others given their own burdens, but encouraged colleagues to confide in at least one person who might help. Osoba's burial is scheduled for August 13 in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
