Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa says US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were briefed September 6 on Russian military plans for Donetsk Oblast, during a Kyiv meeting that also included Kyrylo Budanov, Mykhailo Drapatyi, Oleh Ivashchenko, and Anatolii Kryvonozhko.

Palisa said Russia has pushed back its deadline to reach the Donbas oblast borders fifteen times, with political leadership now targeting the end of 2026 while military officials reportedly want to push that to March 2027.

He said Russian advances are costing hundreds of killed and wounded soldiers per square kilometer, and that Russia's new jet-powered drones rely on technology obtained from unnamed outside suppliers rather than original development.

The briefing followed Witkoff and Kushner's September 5 meeting with Putin in Moscow; Kushner said in Kyiv that Trump's goal extends beyond ending the war to securing lasting peace.
