A munition fell near the Palanca border crossing between Moldova and Ukraine on October 5, striking a parked bus and the border control booth and lightly injuring a border police officer, according to Moldovan outlet TV8. The crossing has been closed and traffic rerouted to Tudora.

Moldovan media tied the incident to an escalation of Russian strikes on Ukraine's border territory but did not identify the munition's origin.
