Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksii Honcharenko was added to the Myrotvorets database, a website that has previously listed people accused of acting against Ukraine's interests, after he posted on Telegram calling for Ukraine to pursue step-by-step negotiations with Russia, starting with a halt to strikes on ports. The site labeled him a ‘professional provocateur’ and accused him of actions aimed at ‘demoralizing society’ and undermining mobilization efforts.

Days earlier, on Oct. 5, the European Solidarity party expelled Honcharenko from its parliamentary faction, saying his public statements on ending the war had diverged from the party's principles. The party said the split did not erase years of cooperation but that unity could not be a formality when fundamental disagreements over the country's future exist.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Getting kicked out of your own party for suggesting talks is one thing. Getting your name filed next to accused collaborators for the same sentence is a different order of consequence entirely, and the report does not say who runs that particular website or what oversight, if any, applies to it. A democracy at war still has to decide whether disagreement and sabotage get the same filing cabinet.
