Russian officials say more than 50 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over Rostov region on September 18, with no injuries reported despite damage to five homes, several vehicles, and eight apartment buildings. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin separately claimed over 350 drones were headed for the capital region starting the evening before, most destroyed “at long range” and 64 more intercepted closer in; he did not say what happened to the rest.
A Ukrainian Telegram channel claimed an air base in Rostov-on-Don was hit, which Russian authorities have not confirmed. President Zelensky claimed a September 17 attack on the same city damaged several Russian military aircraft and helicopters, a claim Russian authorities also have not confirmed.
Part of Rostov-on-Don lost electricity during the September 17 attack, and Telegram channels reported a fire at a military airfield there.

Both governments hand out numbers like church raffle tickets and expect you not to check the drawing. Russia says its skies are basically a fortress, Ukraine says it hit six aircraft, and neither side's homework gets checked by the other. A person could grow a beard waiting for both claims to line up with something a camera actually caught.
