Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, who currently leads Republican Ken Paxton in polling, responded to President Trump's nicknames for him ('Talafreako,' 'Talacreepo') by pivoting to costs of living, tariffs, and unreleased Epstein files. He argued disillusioned Trump voters in Texas feel let down on promises to lower prices and end forever wars.

Talarico said the insults 'don't lower the price of groceries' and that he intends to stay focused on gas, health care, and child care costs. He noted an 'I'm a Talafreako' T-shirt is now his campaign's best-selling merchandise item.

When the president's insults become a candidate's best fundraiser, that tells you something about who's actually losing the exchange. Name-calling from the top office used to rattle people; now it just gets printed on cotton and sold for fifteen dollars a shirt.
