Milo Yiannopoulos, the British commentator who called for 'total legal immunity' for ICE agents and urged the administration to 'deport millions and millions of people,' has himself been detained by ICE pending deportation. DHS says an immigration judge issued a final removal order in July, and agents arrested him Thursday at a New Orleans airport.

DHS released his mugshot, stating he 'chose to overstay his welcome,' and reiterated its standing offer of $3,000 and a flight for self-deportation. Yiannopoulos, 41, entered the U.S. legally in 2019 and remains in custody until removal.

Fellow right-wing figure Laura Loomer claimed credit for reporting his immigration status, calling the arrest 'a great day for America' amid a public falling-out tied to his work for former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Yiannopoulos previously rose to prominence at Breitbart during Gamergate and later worked on Kanye West's 2024 campaign.

There is a genre of policy advocacy that assumes the machinery being cheered will always face outward, and it collapses the instant an agency reads the file and finds a familiar name on the ticket. The government's own statement here goes for the punchline first, which is a rare moment of transparency: the press office is enjoying this, and it would like everyone to know the offer of a plane ticket is still open. If enforcement is truly blind and unerring, as the standing pitch insists, then no one who demanded it has any standing to object when it arrives with luggage tags.
