The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to let construction resume on the president's $400m White House ballroom after an appeals court ruled the project lacked required congressional approval. Trump demolished the historic East Wing last year to make room for the ballroom, which he has called a gift to the American people. Solicitor General D John Sauer told the court the ballroom is part of 'an integrated military complex' vital to national security, arguing the whole structure exists to shield an underground installation.
