Florida's primary election closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a Phoenix analysis finding more than 14% of registered voters had already cast ballots early or by mail, ranging from about 12% in Miami-Dade to nearly 19% in Pinellas County. Statewide, Democrats voted early at a higher rate (19.83%) than Republicans (15.53%), while voters with no party affiliation lagged well behind both at 6.32%.

Republican early turnout topped 25% in Liberty, Dixie and Sumter counties, while Democratic early turnout exceeded that mark in eight counties including Sumter, Sarasota and Monroe. Voters need a current photo ID to cast a regular ballot, though provisional ballots remain available with signature verification.
