Ex-DM Fedorov says no concrete funding offers yet for potential political project, but 'many' are interested

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov told Ukrainska Pravda that no one has yet handed him concrete money for a potential political project, though he says many interested people have approached him. He was in the United States earlier in September seeking funding and partners for a venture fund covering frontline robotics, interceptor drones, and cheap missiles.

Fedorov's August call for wartime elections drew a rebuke from the Office of the President, which called the idea unrealistic, and a source told the BBC it was strange to plan elections amid missiles and drones. Fedorov maintains he isn't imposing himself on anyone or actively recruiting partners.

A man touring Washington for investors while insisting he isn't looking for partners is a bit like a fellow walking through a car lot in his good boots, swearing he's just out for air. Nobody begrudges an ambitious man his ambitions. But calling it 'an important stage of life' instead of 'a campaign' doesn't fool the neighbors watching him measure the curtains.
