Vivek Ramaswamy, Ohio's Republican gubernatorial candidate, was recorded telling a rally attendee he supports 'everyone up and down the ticket' when asked directly about Rep. Max Miller, who faces domestic and child abuse allegations from his ex-wife. Both of Ohio's Republican senators have already called on Miller to resign; Ramaswamy has not.

When pressed further on whether he would campaign alongside Miller, Ramaswamy changed the subject to ask the attendee where he grew up, before pivoting to warn that any deviation from full party unity risks losing control of Congress and the state. Miller, who denies the allegations, has stayed in the race and loaned his campaign $1 million.

The Ohio GOP responded to inquiries with an unsolicited statement about Democratic scandals in other states rather than addressing Miller. Acton's campaign called Ramaswamy's non-answer part of a broader pattern of standing by accused abusers.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Nothing sharpens a politician's rhetorical footwork quite like being asked to choose between a colleague accused of abuse and the parliamentary math. Ramaswamy managed to answer a direct question about Max Miller without once saying his name in the affirmative or the negative, which is its own small feat of civic non-engagement.
