President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a major salary increase for Pakistan's Supreme Court judges, aligning their pay with judges of the Federal Constitutional Court, effective retroactively from December 10, 2025. The Chief Justice's basic salary rises to Rs1.55 million monthly and other justices to Rs1.5 million, up from Rs1.1 million, a roughly Rs400,000 jump, with judicial allowances also rising by about Rs338,837 to Rs1.5 million.
The package, to be issued as the Supreme Court Judges' Salary Order 2026, also raises pension-related age thresholds from 70 to 75 and from 85 to 90, and adds a Rs150,000 monthly medical allowance. Judges will additionally collect arrears covering the retroactive period.
