Presidential Office disavows Kravchenko's charges against NABU chief
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko filed formal suspicion notices against National Anti-Corruption Bureau director Semen Kryvonos and an associate of SAPO head Oleksandr Klymenko, alleging classified materials were unlawfully accessed during anti-corruption raids. Presidential Office sources told RBC-Ukraine that Kravchenko acted without authorization, with one official saying he had lost his mind or panicked.
President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly rejected Kravchenko's framing and said he had personally told Kravchenko to resign, calling for parliament to support his dismissal without delay. Kravchenko had already announced on Sept. 7 that he submitted his resignation amid reports linking him to corruption schemes.
Hours after filing the charges, Kravchenko crossed Ukraine's border at 2:30 a.m. in an official vehicle, which he described as an authorized business trip. The charges were filed in the context of Operation Carthage, a NABU investigation into a criminal syndicate protecting fraudulent call-center networks allegedly organized by a senior Prosecutor General's Office official.
