Woman ignores unusual symptoms—then remembers something that saves her life

A 57-year-old American woman living in London says she survived a heart attack last year after recalling a comedic acronym — HEPPP, for hot, exhausted, pain, pale, puke — that comedian Rosie O'Donnell has popularized in specials and social media videos since her own 2012 heart attack.

Denise Warner told Newsweek she initially dismissed tingling arms and chest tightness, but vomiting triggered the memory of O'Donnell's routine, prompting her and her wife to go to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a significant cardiac event and performed an angioplasty.

Warner later messaged O'Donnell to thank her, and says the comedian replied that she was glad of the outcome. Newsweek notes it has contacted O'Donnell's representatives for comment.
