Charlie Forde, who holds a veterinary background in emergency medicine, writes that she also works as an adult film performer, and that income from that work funds an international volunteer veterinary series she runs, including fundraising for a farm animal sanctuary. She describes maintaining two separate online identities, a veterinarian and a performer, and says she has stopped trying to keep the two separated.

Forde recounts a dating show appearance where a man reacted with revulsion upon learning her profession, and describes a case from her veterinary career involving a dog with a splenic tumor who was adopted and treated by a colleague rather than euthanized. She says adult work, done professionally, draws on the same skills of trust and composure that her veterinary training gave her, and that she is currently awaiting a licensing exam to practice in the U.S.
